Who Should Attend?
Scientists, technologists and students who have interests in
learning or sharing advanced scientific information on high pressure
applications concerning the biophysics of biomolecule structure and
function relationships, the biology of organisms living under or
responding to extreme conditions, and HP applications in food
processing, biomedicine and biotechnology. People who are
interested in any of the following topics consider attending this
conference:
- Food processing under high pressure
- Food chemical modification under high pressure
- Microbial inactivation at high pressure
- Protein folding, thermodynamic properties
- Biomolecular interactions
- Lipid and membrane structure and function
- Membrane protein structure and function
- Genomics/functional genomics of deep-sea marine organisms
- Microbial structure and function under pressure
- High pressure and pressure cycling in biotechnological applications
- Recombinant protein refolding under high pressure
- Sample processing for genomic, proteomic and metabolomic research
- High pressure treatments of organs or tissues for transplantation
- Novel applications of high pressure in other life science research
- Theoretical studies of high pressure related biochemical reactions
The 2008 HPBB conference will be the first time an HPBB meeting has been
held in the United States. Prior international HPBB meetings have been held
in Tsukuba, Japan (2006), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2004), Dortmund, Germany
(2002) and Kyoto, Japan (2000).
